If walking 60 miles is crazy…we don’t want to be normal!
In the five years that Team Tiara has been walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, we have raised a combined $300,000, but we aren’t finished yet. Our goal is to have 100 walkers on our team in 2010, raising a total of $250,000.
Through the 3-Day, God has led us to cross paths with many people who have been touched by breast cancer and need help. Over time, we’ve all come to realize that this isn’t just about three days of walking to find a CURE for breast cancer. It’s become far more than that — it’s become a ministry. With that calling, we began to realize it was time for Team Tiara to offer direct support to those who are hurting. To make that possible, we have become a non-profit corporation — operating under section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
We plan to continue walking in the 3-Day until we reach that magical year when a cure has been found, and this turns into the biggest celebration the world has ever seen. In the meantime, our new non-profit status gives us the flexibility to be the hands and feet of Jesus by meeting needs God brings our way.
Many Blessings,
D’Lyn Biggs
