Chris’s Story

Why I walk…

I walk for my sister, Julie.  She was 36 years old when she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.  She fought the cancer for 4 years and passed away one month after celebrating her 40th birthday in the hospital.

Julie was a pre-school teacher; kids gravitated to her. She continued to work during her treatments because she did not want to let the kids down….she taught at a preschool and loved being in the classroom.

Julie did not give up, she fought  and taught as long as she could..she left behind her legacy at the preschool and also a husband , 14 year old son and a 11 year old daughter.  Her children are feisty like her.  She taught them to never give up.

She taught all of us…this is why I walk.
