I walk for the next one. The three women in my life who have been diagnosed with breast cancer have all beat it, and beat it with authority. With early diagnosis and modern treatments they had the upper hand on this horrible disease. But I walk for the next woman who had a clean bill of health last year, but goes in this year and gets that call from the doctor that this year is different. This year they have “found an area of concern.” I walk so that the next woman who is diagnosed with breast cancer believes she has hope, not a death sentence.
I attended a bible study yesterday for the first time and was told about a woman named Kristi who had a clean bill of health last year. She went in this year and found out she has stage 3 breast cancer. They have told her she has 8 months left. Please pray for this lady and her family!!! The way the story was presented to me, hope is no where in the equation. Hope for a cure, hope for extended time with her family, hope that this might be the day the Great Healer chooses her for a miracle.
