Team Tiara is a non-profit organization committed to raising funds for the Susan G. Komen 3-Day event and supporting patients and families affected by Breast Cancer. In 2011, Team Tiara was the #4 top fundraiser for the SGK 3-Day event, provided direct support to more than 20 breast cancer survivors and funded 20 mammograms for women without access to health insurance. Team Tiara has raised over $600,000 since 2006! What an awesome team, committed to raising $250,000 in 2012, $100,000 of which will be for metastatic breast cancer research. So how does this football pool work??
1.) Email Kay Routh (routh6@comcast.net) letting her know that you would like a square (or two). If you would like a particular square (1-100), please include that number. We will let you know if that square is open. If you do not have a preference, please indicate, any square and we will randomly select a square.

2.) Send in your $$ to Kay. This should be cash or a check made payable to CASH or Team Tiara. (this is because we will need to split the funds between the payouts and donations to Team Tiara). If you need a receipt for tax purposes, please include that in your initial email, and a receipt will be emailed to you.
Mail or hand deliver all payments to Kay Routh at 20310 Silverwood Trail, Cypress, TX 77433

All payments must be received before your name will be placed into a square.

3.) Once all of the squares are filled, numbers will be pulled. (How you ask ??? Using a deck of cards, A-10) of one suit will be separated and shuffled. As the cards are flipped one at a time, thoese will be the numbers assigned to the squares. This will be done for the AFC Team and the NFC Team) *Separate numbers will be pulled for the $10 pool and $20 pool.

$10/square = $1,000 collected. $500 will be donated to Team Tiara, $500 will be paid out ($125/quarter – no OT).
$20/square $2,000 collected. $1000 will be donated to Team Tiara, $1000 will be paid out ($250/quarter – no OT).

The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® is a 60-mile walk for women and men who want to make a personal difference in the fight to erase breast cancer. As walkers, we will raise at least $2,300 per walker and walk 60 miles, creating awareness about breast health with every step. Funds raised impact breast cancer research and community based breast health and education programs.

Happy Holidays

Saturday’s 21-mile route started a little cold but the sun came out and it was perfect walking weather. How about the cheering stations on Saturday? The pink gorilla was back this year and Gene Simmons from ‘Kiss’ was spotted at a Grab & Go in the afternoon. There were nearly two miles of continuous cheering stations after we had lunch at the Hockaday Academy. We walked a little slower today but we made it to camp in time for dinner, a few games and the dance party.

Our final day of walking began with a quick bus ride to Ursuline Academy. We started our 15-mile walk through some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Dallas. Then it was onto the Katy Trail and through Historic Downtown Dallas past the American Airlines Center and Pioneer Plaza with the bronze steer. Lunch was at Main Street Garden – what a view of downtown Dallas! The final miles of the route wound through the Deep Ellum Arts District and into the Fair Grounds for a celebratory Closing Ceremony with our family and friends. It was an amazing end to a beautiful weekend.

The 2011 “Dresser Cares” and Pink Shirt Day Celebration will be held Thursday, October 27.  Dresser’s employees are planning a fantastic celebration and fundraising event!

Through their 2010 “Dresser Cares” and Pink Shirt Day Celebration, Dresser employees raised $5828.00 for the Breast Cancer 3-Day!  Sales of pink ribbon t-shirts, pink safety goggles and individual donations were matched by Dresser, Inc.  Thank you for taking  a stand against breast cancer!

Team Tiara will have a booth at this year’s festivities and will be manning Water Station #1.  Our Triathlon Relay Team, Tiaras for Tatas, will be competing as well!  Come out and support Team Tiara and the Fairfield Women’s Club!

Walking in the Breast Cancer 3-Day is an experience like none other.  Sure, you get very familiar with the use of blue porta-potties. And sleeping in a pink tent. And taking a shower in converted semi-truck.

But there’s so much more to this walk. It really is 60 miles of ministry.

“Bowl for the Cure,” held March 31, 2011, netted $2215.00 for Team Tiara’s quest for a CURE!  Hosted by the Thursday Morning Early Bird Ladies League at Copperfield Bowl, Bowl for the Cure was a huge success!  Thank you to the organizers, teams, and individuals for their donations, pledges and yummy food!
